OFFICIAL INFRACON 2022 COVID POLICY - ATTENDEES

We’re excited to see everyone next month in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic! That said, with Covid still being an unpredictable spoiler, there are a number of precautions we’re taking to help limit the spread and protect the health of our community. As such, we are stepping up our protection protocols to help keep our POKT family safe.

As you may have noticed at other events, it’s not uncommon to require documentation of a negative COVID test or to have proof of vaccination. For us, this doesn’t cover it. Even vaccinated individuals can be carriers and the asymptomatic may not yet be aware.

The only solution that has the best chance of identifying individuals who are carrying COVID is to require 100% of attendees (including staff) to take a rapid test prior to picking up their badge.

Below you can read more about the specifics of our plans.

VACCINES

Infracon will continue to follow government guidelines which may change at any moment. Infracon recommends vaccination to mitigate potential health risks and maximum flexibility to adapt to potential future regulations, but does not mandate it. Unfortunately, those with vaccines can also be carriers, so we will require a test for all attendees regardless of vaccination status.

NEGATIVE COVID TEST REQUIRED

  • Lab-certified Antigen COVID test (must be taken within 48 hours of badge pickup)
  • Lab-certified PCR COVID test (must be taken within 48 hours of badge pickup)
The following are acceptable as proof of negative COVID viral test result:
All Infracon attendees - including those who are fully vaccinated - must present proof of a negative COVID test. The following types of lab-certified antigen or lab-certified PCR tests will be accepted:
  • Printed document (from the test provider) showing test result/type of test/attendee name/date
  • Printed document (from the test provider) showing test result/type of test/attendee name/date

ONSITE ANTIGEN TESTING

Although we strongly recommend testing to be done prior to arriving, Infracon’s venue, The Westin Punta Cana Resort and Club, has an onsite facility where attendees can choose to take a rapid test prior to picking up their badge to Infracon. Tests will be administered, under the supervision of resort staff including medically trained professionals. Test results take about 10 minutes to process. Cost is $25 per test, and only cash is accepted. Test location subject to change. Test service hours are not guaranteed and may be subject to change.

If you feel sick at any point during your visit to Infracon, please visit our onsite testing center to take a follow-up test before entering any venues. Whether or not you test positive for COVID, if you have symptoms that mirror any other communicable disease (i.e. flu, cold, etc.) we ask that you do not visit in-person venues until your symptoms subside.

WELL CHECKS & FOLLOW-UP TESTING

Attendees who are outwardly displaying symptoms of covid, flu, or otherwise will in all cases be required to take a COVID test before entering any venue. We understand this may be inconvenient for those with allergies or similar issues, but is an unavoidable precaution. A person who tests negative on a follow-up test must keep the proof of negative test results on them to show at venue entrances if requested and may be asked to retest every 24 hours. We ask that participants be open and honest about any symptoms they may have.

MASK POLICY

Infracon will follow CDC and public health official recommendations, as well as all local guidelines and mandates. Some public locations may require masks. The Infracon venue, The Westin Punta Cana Resort and Club will have complimentary masks at the front desk for all resort guests.

POLICY ENFORCEMENT

Please do not attend Infracon if you are sick or feeling unwell, if you are currently covered by a COVID quarantine protocol, or if you are currently awaiting COVID test results. We reserve the right to deny entry for people showing clear signs of illness.

A single violation of the rules can result in removal from the venue, by venue security or law enforcement.
